Sägewerk Schwaiger

Sustainable and careful handling with the forest stock, the basic understanding of nature and the responsibility for next generations characterizes the overall concept of the sawmill Schwaiger.

The sawmill has been owned and operated by the family Schwaiger for three generations, was founded a hundred years ago near the center of Hengersberg and is now one of the largest sawmills in Germany. A constellation of sawmills, a biomass heating plant and a pellet factory, which is coordinated to one another, provides an optimal result regarding the CO2 balance and primary energy consumption.

After the sawmill Schwaiger put in 2014 two AGRO container plants with an output of 2 x 2.5 MW / th and an AGRO thermal oil boiler plant with 15 MW / th and 3 MW / el in operation, now an additional AGRO thermal oil boiler plant with 10.5 MW / th and 1,5 MW / el covers the growing energy demand.

Sustainable energy and social responsibility - Elsa heats milk ecologically

Elsa, the milk processor of the M-Industry and the Swiss market leader for dairy products and cheese, has installed a wood-fired heating plant for its company in Estavayer-le-Lac, using the advanced technology of AGRO Forst & Energietechnik.

The AGRO plant is used to heat the milk with steam, which saves around 12,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. This corresponds to 60 percent of the company's total emissions or the average energy consumption of 2,264 four-person households per year.

About 700,000 kilograms of milk is processed daily at Elsa. The raw material has a temperature of 5° C. In order to make UHT milk, yogurt or cheese from the milk, it has to be heated, partly up to 150 ° C. Up to now, the heating has been carried out via four gas and one oil boiler. Now the new AGRO steam boiler plant carries out this task to 60 percent.

Holzwerke Weinzierl

As already reported in September, the company Holzwerke Weinzierl relies on the innovative technology of AGRO Forst & Energietechnik and covers its growing energy demand with 2 new mobile AGRO container plants with a capacity of 2 x 2.4 MW / th. We do not want to hide from you some great pictures of the plant in operation:

Ligna 2017

We could welcome a lot of visitors on the exhibition Ligna 2017 – most famous exhibition in the wood and sawmill industry – in  Hannover. Very interested people from more than 23 countries in the world wanted to be informed about energy production with renewable resources.

In the evening, the day ended in a magnificent ambience on the banks of the river Leine with our representatives from Central, Southern and Northern Europe, North America and China.

JOWA – Enjoyment with a clear conscience

For more than 80 years, the name JOWA has stood for diversity, enjoyment and reliability. JOWA bread comes every day fresh to every third table in Switzerland. And that is not without reason: At JOWA it is baked with passion and pride.

As the leading bakery in Switzerland JOWA, a subsidiary of Migros, is investing in a sustainable and future-oriented energy supply. After a smooth construction period of only eight months, JOWA is commissioning the new wood-fired heating plant with AGRO Turbo Challenger and AGRO thermal oil boiler in Gränichen. JOWA saves 3,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. This corresponds to the average energy consumption of 566 four-person households per year - according to the sustainability motto "Enjoyment with a clear conscience".

The wood heating system ensures the continuous heat supply and covers 60 percent of the energy demand of the entire bakery in Gränichen. Natural gas is still used for the energy peaks. The wood used for the heating system comes from sustainably managed forests from the region. Heating with wood is CO2-neutral. The burning of wood releases the same amount of CO2 as the trees remove from the atmosphere during their growth.
